Description: Chalmers & Kubeck North, the northernmost facility owned by Chalmers and Kubeck Inc., is seeking a talented Industrial High Pressure SteamValve Technician. The Chalmers & Kubeck North facility is in Westfield, Massachusetts. There has never been a better time to be employed at Chalmers and Kubeck North. We have a dynamic and responsive management team, seasoned lead technicians, and line level technicians that work as a team emphasizing quality. We have upgraded our tooling and facility. We are making every effort to secure factory and safety training for our employees. We are expanding our customer base in our valve and actuator business. We also now offer repair machining and welding services to industrial clients. Chalmers and Kubeck North represents Velan, Limitorque, and Consolidated product lines. We are a National Board VR stamp facility, and a Green Tag service center. We also service and repair many other types of valve and actuator products. SCHEDULE Full-time position - standard schedule is 40 hours per week, must be willing to work Monday – Friday, day shift (7:00a - 3:30p), outage season work can require 60+ hours per week Travel when needed up to or greater than 50% during outage seasons, lodging near the work site

Responsibilties: Applicants must demonstrate the following capabilities via their attached resume:
Works closely with co-workers, management and safety coordinator to ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations
Opens, inspects, services and repairs conventional gate, globe, swing check and blow down valves, control valves, pressure reducing valves, butterfly valves, stop check/non return valves, ball valves, pneumatic linear and electromechanical multi turn actuators.
Applicants with prior experience with safety relief valves such as Consolidated, Farris, Kunkle or Anderson Greenwood will given preference. Green Tag Center Trained technicians will be given immediate consideration
Inspection - reliably measures dimensions of mechanical parts using OD/ID micrometers, Vernier calipers, depth micrometers, and protractors to within 0.001”, records findings on condition reports, takes supporting photographs as needed
Rigging – Safely places and operates overhead cranes, come alongs, and chain falls using proper fall protection equipment

Reassembly – Reassembles valves, actuators, and positioners with new or reconditioned parts, seals and or packing, repaints as needed
Test – performs in shop hydrostatic, air, nitrogen, and or steam testing as needed on repaired valves, strokes line valves in the field to confirm proper operation
Reads and interprets mechanical drawings and IOM manuals
Competently uses shop tooling such as torches, hydraulic presses, sandblaster, and basic hand tools such as wrenches, impact drivers, nut runners, etc.
Must be capable to work in conditions that are consistent with a manufacturing and service organization inside or outside, ranging from a workshop to on-site at a heavy industry facility.
Must be capable to lift 50lbs and be able to walk and climb when performing work on site. Must be able to lift at least 50lbs in the shop.

Education & Experience: High School or Equivalent

Qualifications: Willingness to be trained in skills other than the primary skill is encouraged
Applicants with 2 years minimum documented prior experience with line valves and multi turn
actuators will be given preference.

Benefits: Any hours over 40 in a week are at 1.5 x base pay rate
Any Sunday or holiday hours are at 2.0 x base pay rate
