Borescope Program
Do you have a gear box that is running hot, showing high vibration, or maybe your oil analysis report shows high metal content?
Overview
Chalmers & Kubeck has your solution that could save you costly down time or even save unnecessary disassembly with our state of the art technology. C&K can access the gears and bearing to examine their condition without removing or disassembling the unit. With our borescope program, we can do an on-site inspection of your gearbox.
The equipment that Chalmers & Kubeck uses is similar to the equipment used in the medical field. All C&K needs is access as small as 3/4" to enter the unit. With the articulating camera head, we can look at the components of the bearing, checking for wear, pitting or thrust load. (See sample borescope report)
With Chalmers & Kubeck's Borescope program, we have found clogged lube spray nozzles, no clearance bearings, etc. We check oil troughs for contamination of metal, brass, dirt, etc.
Our monitoring program takes photos from prior inspections and compares them to the most recent photos to supervise whether there was any wear on the gears and bearings. Our findings have saved our customers thousands dollars in repairs and down time. Also, C&K's inspections are not limited to gear boxes. We can inspect and measure turbine blades with our stereo tip measuring lens. We can use this feature to monitor wear on the fins.
We have been called to find lost objects inside equipment that could enter the equipment causing thousands of dollars in damage. Our technicians are highly qualified to perform on-site inspections and advise on the spot any repairs or precautions that need to be performed.
