Services |
Chalmers & Kubeck Engineering encompasses a vast number
of services including but not limited to the following:
- Provide planning, organizing and supervise overhauls
of rotating machinery trains ranging from small to
several thousand horsepower.
- Provide troubleshooting which includes both diagnostic
measurement and analysis of equipment vibrations,
controls and equipment/system performance.
- Provide design audits covering rotor dynamics, bearings,
thermodynamic performance, lubrication systems and
controls.
- Develop and present training materials to engineers,
technicians, plant supervisors and mechanics detailing
the critical mechanical elements of rotating machinery
and the use of the many tools available to diagnose
problems, improve reliability and avoid equipment
failures.

Examples
of Services Performed

- Developing specifications for rotating machinery
(turbines, compressors, fans, gears, etc.) used
in large and small projects.
- Gas Compressor performance calculations and comparison
with measured data (air, refrigerants, etc.).
- Gearbox (speed reducers) load calculations.
- On-Site project installation and startup work
that includes trouble shooting and problem resolution.
- Plan and lead field overhauls of steam turbines,
compressors, generator sets, pumps and gear systems.
- Vibration measurements and the interpretation
of the data as to root cause(s) of vibrations in
turbines, compressors, pumps, gearboxes, fans, etc.
- Conduct comprehensive reliability studies on powerhouse
equipment, including reciprocating and centrifugal
compressors, steam turbines, fans and turbine generators.
- Determine and implement ways to economically modify
capacity and improve efficiency for compressed air
systems.
- Provide diagnostic analysis and repair assistance
for high speed centrifuges.
